Obituary Records can be a fantastic
source of information for genealogists.
They
often contain much more information than just a death record. In the late 19th
and early 20th centuries its not uncommon for people
to have incredibly long obituaries telling practically a person's whole life
story.
Obituaries are the few
final written words that provide glimpses into the lives of ordinary people and
allow us to look at our own lives and times.
